Nestled amidst lush gardens and walking trails that Eglantina, the charming owner and anthropologist, has curated, this eco-hotel offers an authentic taste of the Algarve countryside. The breakfasts were a highlight, featuring indulgent spreads of homemade jams - the fig was exceptional - alongside local delicacies like sweet potatoes and scrambled eggs with wild asparagus. After delightful mornings, we would retreat to the magnificent hammam designed by Pedro Ressana Garcia, a true oasis of tranquility that complemented the outdoor pool perfectly. Our room, while simply adorned, offered a cozy charm with a shaded terrace ideal for unwinding after exploring the nearby Castro Marim Nature Reserve, abundant with birdlife and stunning views. The dedication to organic eco-tourism here is palpable, making it not just a getaway but a part of a larger conservation effort - something close to my heart as a safari guide. Companhia Das Culturas invites travelers to embrace an authentic and ethically conscious adventure, making it an excellent choice for those seeking a serene escape in the heart of nature.
